Prairie Path Guest House

5.jpg

We offer three rooms where you can sleep comforted by beautiful handmade quilts or lose yourself among the antiques! Wake up to a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, homemade breads, fruit, French toast or waffles, ham, and our own jams & jellies.  While sitting on the wicker porch swing on the upstairs veranda, enjoy our beautiful countryside and be blessed by the song of the bluebird or call of the mockingbird.  Wake up to the smell of coffee and fresh cinnamon rolls baking and make time to bird watch, shop in our small quilt & gift shop or explore the historic community we call home.  We offer free Wi-Fi.  Check us out on Facebook!

Prairie Path Guest House - the name, alone, drew me to its whereabouts... I was thrilled with the outcome! Buster and Fern were the perfect hosts and the breakfast was one to behold: Homemade breads, red raspberry cream cheese coffee cake, cheesey egg casserole, bacon and fresh fruit along with my choice of coffee, tea, milk or juice. Accoustic music played in the background while we visited in the nicely stenciled cozy dining room. The whole house is just darling and nicely themed, room to room. The upstairs porch provides a relaxing place to sit, sip your favorite beverage or enjoy that warm apple pie or just plain ponder, while overlooking the garden and pasture where calves are calmly grazing. AND those prairie paths? They\'re there-take a casual walk, meandering thru the pasture to enjoy nature at its finest.

My recommendation is to schedule a night or two stay at Prairie Path Guest House, in northwest Illinois; there\'s just down home goodness there.
