25th Annual Bald Eagle Watch (8:00AM - 4:00PM)
24th ANNUAL EAGLE WATCH
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Thomson Park Rangers, in cooperation with Clinton Community College and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will hold the “25th Annual Bald Eagle Watch†on Saturday, January 3, 2009. Eagle viewing will be held at the Lock and Dam 13 visitor overlook building from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lock and Dam 13 is located 5 miles north of Fulton, Illinois off of IL. Highway 84.
Educational programs and environmental exhibits will be held at Clinton Community College, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Clinton Community College is located at 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton, Iowa.
The Schedule of Events is as follows:
9:45 a.m.: Introduction to the 25th Annual Eagle Watch, followed by an Eagle Video program by Jim Homann, Thomson Park Ranger, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
10:15 a.m.: “Eagles of the Upper Mississippi†by Pam Steinhaus, Refuge Ranger, US Fish and Wildlife Service
11:15 a.m.: “Birds of Prey†by Brian Fruechtenicht, Naturalist, Rockford Park District, Rockford, Illinois.
12:45 p.m.: “Capturing Moments in Nature†by Stan Bousson, Nature Photographer, Moline, Illinois.
1:45 p.m.: “Falconer Program†by Mike Hunter Prophetstown, Illinois
