Quilter's Journey 2-3 Day Trip


Quilters Journey Itinerary 2 or 3 day tour (Suitable for groups of 20 or less)



Day 1 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM Behren’s Country Village, 1512 Prophet Road, Rock Falls. Start out your day on a positive note! Enjoy freshly made muffins in the farm atmosphere at Behren’s Muffins N’ More. Browse Behren’s Country Village with many unique gifts, furniture, fresh and silk flowers, and the year round Christmas Crib.



Travel to Morrison, Illinois 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM Constantly Stitching, 1360 Lincoln Road, Morrison.    Travel along the historic Lincoln Highway to Constantly Stitching. Located in the former Unionville School, Constantly Stitching carries over 1200 bolts of fabrics, books, patterns and notions to fit every quilters needs.



Lunch at Forest Inn, rural Morrison 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM Forest Inn, 20657 Lincoln Road, Morrison. Share your purchases with each other in the newly remodeled Forest Inn. Choose from a scrumptious menu while you relax in the beautiful and charming atmosphere.



Travel to Fulton, Illinois 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM Susan’s Calico Creations, 1108 4th Street, Fulton. Susan’s Calico Creations offers antiques, fine oak furniture, pottery and everything a beginner to the expert quilter needs. Susan’s Calico Creations offers 2500 bolts of fabrics, books, patterns and notions.



Travel to Mt. Carroll, Illinois 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM Ideas N’ Designs Antiques, 116 W Market Street, Mount Carroll. Located in an 1850’s historic building, Ideas N’ Designs Antiques offer antiques, whole sale designer fabrics, and Automobilia. We also feature a Victorian Library, English Garden, Mad Hatter Tea Room and Through the Looking Glass fashions.



4:15 PM Depart for home or check into either the Prairie Path Guest House, 1002 North Lowden Road, Mount Carroll or Country Palmer House B and B(For groups larger than 6 other accommodations can be made at area motels) At the Prairie Path Guest House you will enjoy being pampered in our 1876 Victorian B and B! Cuddle under the quilts and smell cinnamon buns and bacon cooking for breakfast. Our gift shop features quilted wall hangings, table runners and primitive wood items. At the Country Palmer House you will enjoy gorgeous views of the rolling sountryside.  A home cooked breakfast  will feature fresh fruits and vegetables from our gardens. 



5:30 PM – 7:00 PM Dinner at Sievert’s, 121 West Market Street, Mount Carroll. Sievert’s is a casual family restaurant, famous for thin-crust pizza. Sievert’s also offers appetizers, char-broiled steaks, chops, broasted chicken, fish and seafood, tacos, spaghetti and so much more!



Day 2 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Visit the Downtown shops in Mount Carroll such as: The Clay Pot - 112 W Market Street, Mount Carroll. Full service florist, stained glass, black collectibles, crochet, needlepoint, crystal, country and Victorian prints, silver plate, Raggedy Ann and Andy collectibles, wreaths of native vines, resale books, and vintage clothing. Heritage Market Antiques, Etc. 107 W. Market, Mount Carroll. Antique market located in historic building in downtown Mt. Carroll. A wide variety of antiquities available from multiple vendors. Ideas ‘N’ Designs - 116 W. Market Street, Mt. Carroll. Ideas ‘N’ Designs his and hers compatible shopping experience. Enjoy shopping for antiques, wholesale designer fabrics, Automobilia and vintage toys. Highlights include the Victorian library and Mad Hatters Tea Room.



Travel to White Pines State Park and White Pines Inn in rural Mt. Morris, IL. 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM White Pines Inn, 6712 W. Pines Road, Mt. Morris. Enjoy a wonderful afternoon meal at the White Pines Inn. Your group can have a choice of eight different buffets, including an outdoor picnic. Save room for one of their many scrumptious desserts!



2:30 PM – 4:00 PM Stitches in Time - 300 West Washington, Oregon Stitches in Time features a wide range of fabrics from Thimbleberries to hand dyed fabric, plus a complete line of books, patterns and notions. We offer a private work area that makes a perfect location for group or workshop sessions. Hand dying fabric demonstration can be presented for your group!



4:00 PM Depart for home or check into your room at The Patchwork Inn, 122 North 3rd Street, Oregon. The Patchwork Inn BandB features antique furnishings and handmade quilts in the 10 guest rooms, all with private baths. Local history documents show Abraham Lincoln visited for lunch and lodging! Another option is the Colonial Rose Inn , 8230 South Green Street, Grand Detour. Colonial Rose Inn Band B is a short drive in the historic village of Grand Detour, located in an 1855 red brick Italianate mansion. The B and B features 4 bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. 6:00 PM –



8:00 PM Dinner at Colonial Rose Inn, 8230 South Green Street, Grand Detour. The Colonial Rose Inn is located in a beautiful 1855 Italianate mansion will allow you to relax in the cozy dining room specializing in Black Angus beef, fresh fish and unique pasta entrees.



Day 3 After breakfast travel to Dixon, Illinois and enjoy lunch at one of the many unique eateries. Take time to stop at the Dixon Welcome Center and check out the many gifts and fine Illinois products and tour the Illinois Lincoln Highway Interpretive Exhibit.   



Travel to Ashton, Illinois 2:00 PM - Cottage Garden Quilts, 705C North First Street (Route 38), Ashton. Classes are offered at Cottage Garden Quilts along with quilting fabric, notions and other supplies for the novice to the experienced quilter.



Depart for Home!
