For those who know, Margie's cakes and pies are known far and wide as the best in the area. From what I can tell, every one is made from scratch and are incredibly creative in presentation and taste. Her cheese cakes are divine.

Margie Wildman does many cakes and desserts for special events at our restaurant, Colonial Rose Inn, in Grand Detour. Many of our weddings, birthdays, and special celebrations choose Baker Street for their cake choice!

I've been to Baker Street many times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They roast their own coffee and it's as fresh as can be. They also offer a limited menu, mostly sandwiches, soups and potatoes along with a wide selection of pies, cakes, bagels and muffins. It's a great coffee shop but don't let the name fool you, it's not really a bakery. They do offer their own pies and cakes and they are sold by the slice at a fairly high price. My only complaint is that their prices are too high on pies and cakes, they'd do better business if they offered the slices at fairer price. All in all, a great place to stop, relax and grab a bite.

Baker Street serves awesome coffee which is roasted in-house. Desserts are made in-house, too. Very friendly staff. Super fast service. She has wonderful cakes.
