It's hard to find a better place in Illinois for Bald Eagle watching than the Upper Mississippi River Refuge near the towns of Fulton and Thomson Illinois. But this year is special. A pair of Bald Eagles (named Hope and Valor) have nested right under a webcam, laid TWO eggs. This is a real treat to see these majestic birds in their natural habitat. Details:

• The nesting pair of eagles are named Hope and Valor  
• The first egg was laid on February 1st.
• Hope laid her second egg on February 4th.
• The first chick is hatched on March 14th
• The second chick is hatched on March 15th
• March 17th: The oldest chick climbed up over the edge and fell out of the nest, down to one eaglet.
• March 19th: The other eaglet fell out of the nest. Sad news indeed.
