Behrens Blumen Stuff is located just on the outskirts of Rock Falls, Illinois. Sally Behrens' father, W. J. Sowles purchased the property in the late 1930's originally named "The Shady Lane Farm". Sally and her husband, Bob operated the Shady Lane Farm as a dairy farm until the barn caught fire in January of 1968. In 1972, a converted chicken house offered the space for Sally and her son Jim to open a retail floral shop. For several years Jim traveled the world lecturing on floral design while his mother was tending to the floral shop. As her reputation for presenting beautiful arrangements grew, so did her need for Jim to return home. He had spent several years designing Rose Bowl Parade floats, decorating the Statue of Liberty for the Bicentennial Ceremonies and two inaugural platforms. Visitors have come from countries as far away as Germany, South Africa, Canada and most of the 50 states. We have expanded beyond the doors of the original converted chicken house to include decorated rooms which display green plants, floral wreaths, floral table arrangements, candles, unique gifts and dolls. Just across the wooden walkway, you will find the Christmas Crib which is supplied year around with Christmas decorations and floral arrangements. Your leisurely stroll will bring back memories of days gone by. The decorations and gifts will captivate your heart and inspire your thoughts. Check us out on Facebook!
Whether it's the floral arrangements or the gifts we are sure you will enjoy your time at Behrens Blumen Stuff!
